About JEE Advanced
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Advanced) is India's most prestigious national-level engineering entrance examination conducted annually by one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). JEE Advanced is the gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering, architecture, science, and integrated programs offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and is considered one of the toughest engineering entrance exams in the world. Only candidates who qualify JEE Main and rank among the top eligible candidates as per the eligibility criteria announced each year are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced. The examination tests candidates' conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, logical reasoning, mathematical ability, scientific aptitude, and problem-solving skills at an advanced level. JEE Advanced is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and generally consists of two compulsory papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Both papers include questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with varying formats such as Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), Numerical Value Questions, and Matching-Type Questions. The exam pattern may change every year, making adaptability an important part of preparation. Candidates who qualify JEE Advanced become eligible for admission to the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) offering programs such as B.Tech, B.E., BS, Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech, Integrated BS-MS, Dual Degree Programs, and Bachelor of Architecture. Admission is conducted through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process.
