About CAT
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted annually by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to MBA, PGDM, and other postgraduate management programs. It is one of the most competitive and prestigious management entrance examinations in India and is accepted by all IIMs as well as 1,300+ leading business schools across the country. The CAT exam evaluates candidates on essential management skills such as Quantitative Ability (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC). It is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and includes both Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Type In The Answer (TITA) questions. The exam is designed to test a candidate's analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, logical reasoning, mathematical aptitude, reading comprehension, and time management skills. Graduates from Commerce, Science, Arts, Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Agriculture, Computer Applications, and other disciplines are eligible to appear for the CAT exam, provided they meet the minimum eligibility criteria. A high CAT percentile can help candidates secure admission to prestigious institutes such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIM Mumbai, and many other top MBA colleges. A good CAT score opens doors to excellent career opportunities in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Business Analytics, Consulting, Product Management, and Entrepreneurship. With proper preparation, regular mock tests, and a strong understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus, candidates can achieve a high percentile and pursue management education from India's top business schools.
